It was just a little over a year ago that Hovey Electric established our first out of state office in quite a long time. We spent over 2 years preparing for the opening our new location 600 miles south of our home office.
While that decision to locate 600 miles south has presented many challenges and we often think "if we could have done this...or this...", our decision to locate in Todd County, in the city of Guthrie, has never wavered.
Our New "Family"
Shortly after the ribbon cutting in our new facility in October of 2010, in Guthrie, we were told right away that "you are family now." While at the time we thought the comment was very heartfelt we never really gave much more thought to the meaning of that statement. From our experience over the past year, we never could have imagined how true that statement was.
Family takes care of family. Our Todd County family has been helpful in so many ways from big to small. At the end of the day we know that if we need help with ANYTHING, the fine people of Todd County are right there alongside us to help, just like family!
Location, Location, Location
Todd County Has Numerous Building Sites Available Near Hemlock Semi-Conductor
While our primary goal was an ideal location near Clarksville, TN locating our facility in Guthrie, KY was one of our best decisions. If you don't know, Guthrie is just north of Clarksville, TN, only 3 miles from the new Hemlock Semiconductor plant currently being built.
If you are from the area or actually someone working at the Hemlock site, you know the schedule of the traffic gridlock in the morning and at the end of the day. If you go right out of the Hemlock facility toward Clarksville on 79, you will be sitting in traffic at certain times of the day. If you go left, toward Guthrie, KY you will have clear sailing with very little traffic.
Even better yet, you can come in from the North in the morning from the Todd County area and come in the back way which is also clear sailing all the way.
Clarksville Is A Fast Growing City, It Is Less Congested In Todd County
Beyond the Hemlock traffic, Clarksville is just a busy place. Clarksville is home to one of our nations largest Army bases, Ft. Campbell. We found that out firsthand when we traveled to one of our local suppliers on the other end of Clarksville and found out it took 20 minutes to go about 5 miles. That same 20 minutes going North would likely put you in Hopkinsville, KY or nearly to Bowling Green.
Our decision to locate in Guthrie has been a blessing to our company. We not only have grown our "family" considerably, but we also have saved countless hours of productivity NOT sitting in traffic all the time. We have many friends from our area locating near the Clarksville area and we always recommend going north to Todd County.
Thank You Todd County!
While building our new location 600 miles away, we have also been building our website and have figured out how to drive traffic and leads to our website through content marketing.
We are so appreciative for what the people of Todd County have done for our family, that I volunteered to help the Todd County Industrial Foundation with this website. Our goal is to create a content rich website that helps attract businesses to Todd County. The web is a great place to promote the great advantages to businesses and those looking for a new place to call home.
The Todd County Industrial Foundation is all about helping businesses to locate in Todd County. These folks are here to help you.
